Theoretically, men populate most all the combat arms branches in the US Armed Forces. The most fundamental form of combat is conducted on the ground. Arguably, the infantryman is the king of battle, and all other aspects of operational strategy and tactics support the infantry. Regardless of the technology, boots on the ground determine the victor. The boots are worn by the infantry.
First and foremost, the GWOT Archive honors the men and women that sacrificed their lives and paid the ultimate price. The GWOT archive hopes to perpetuate their legacy through the perspectives of men and women Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, and Airmen, fighting the war on terror.
